Abstract: The purpose of this dissertation is to develop a comprehensive voice care program dedicated to preventing voice disorders among public school teachers in Kuwait. Currently, no published research, document, chapter, or position statement presents a comprehensive voice care program to prevent voice disorders in populations known to be at risk for developing voice disorders like teachers. Students, educators, and professionals of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CDS) have no clear guidelines to follow when planning to prevent voice disorders among school teachers. This situation is true not only in the United States but also internationally, including the Middle East. In this dissertation, the author provides a comprehensive and detailed model for preventing voice problems among school teachers in Kuwait. The author takes into consideration the unique cultural and environmental factors that can negatively influence the maintenance of healthy voices among school teachers in the country. Additionally, the author supports the developed voice care model with an implementation plan to ensure its successful translation into the public schools of Kuwait. The author completes the dissertation with an evaluation plan to investigate the effectiveness of the prevention model during the first year of its implementation. The results of the program evaluation will be used to make the necessary modifications to improve the quality of the program and ensure its positive effects on the lives of its teacher participants.
