Abstract: The intent of this study is to digitally reconstruct the maritime community of Buffalo City , North Carolina in order to understand and articulate the architectural and spatial transformations that may have occurred due to social and economic transitions from the legal timber trade to the production of illegally distilled spirits. This study will expand on how legal and illegal economies are reflected in the archaeological record , in addition to how they can effectively be reconstructed through the combined use of historical documentation , photogrammetric modeling , and virtual three-dimensional reconstruction.
