Abstract: There has been a shift in the politics in America with many voters moving into a post-truth society. Where debates , laws and policies are framed by appealing to emotions , rather than facts. This political movement , also known as the alt-right slowly emerged within the '90s but then exploded into the mainstream in 2017 with a deadly rally in Charlottesville , Virginia. Using the fictional animal , the critter , and while assuming the role of an anthropologist in the North Carolina region of the U.S. , I am examining the birth and resulting consequences of this highly tribal political ideology.
