Abstract: This study was proposed (1) to determine the extent and evaluation of supervision given to student teachers and beginning teachers in an attempt to help them solve their teaching difficulties and (2) to derive conclusions from such data upon which could be based recommendations for the improvement of pre-service and in-service education programs with special reference to Appalachian State Teachers College.
