Abstract: For many years man has known that some cottons are better than others; that some fibers are longer, finer, stronger and more elastic than others. Just what effect this has on a finished product is not always easy to determine. The stage has been reached in the textile industry that fiber properties can be easily determined in the raw state. However, the determination of fiber properties is no indication of how well a fabric will perform in use.
