Abstract: Parent education as a movement is a product of the twentieth century. It has been a natural, spontaneous response of parents to the extraordinary growth of the psychological and sociological study of children that has occurred in the last four or five decades. Puzzled by the quantity and complexity of the findings of child research and by the sometimes conflicting conclusions drawn by the child specialists| forced to an increasing awareness of their importance as one of the essential molders of their children's personalities) and troubled by the rapid changes taking place in society and family life, conscientious parents have been driven to seek understanding and help.
