Abstract: Emphasis has been directed to small business during the last decade. The number of small businesses has increased because thousands of servicemen, war workers, and others who wished to be relatively independent have opened small retail businesses of their own.1 Small business has always occupied an important place in our economy. It is essential to have a large number of relatively small business units if competition is to work effectively. If there is to be a system of free private enterprise, opportunities for the small businessman to enter and to operate a business of his own must be maintained. Both large and small businesses have their place and their problems.3
