Abstract: In spite of the recognition of maternal psychopathology and poor peer relations as "at risk" factors of child psychopathology, little attention has been given to the mother-child relationship as a mediator of, and an ultimate influence on the development and maintenance of child psychopathology. The goal of this study was to delineate the interrelationship of and the hierarchical impact of these factors in predicting concurrent child psychopathology.
