Abstract: This paper is a personal case study of the choreographic process, a subjective investigation of the creative process and the work produced. In addition, an attempt is made to relate the creative work of choreography to qualitative research, likening the art's struggle for acceptance within the academic system to effort by researchers to legitimize interpretive and to other more qualitative modes of inquiry. In this effort, the author explores such issues as the essence of knowledge, the purpose of art, and how the two relate.
