Abstract: Children are greatly affected by the impacts of a sibling in the hospital. There is a lot of research discussing the importance of helping children who have a sibling in the hospital, but there is a lack of tangible resources available for the child specifically. This paper discusses the research that suggests why children who have a sibling in the hospital are deeply affected by it to support the need for a resource for the child. It includes warning signs, coping strategies, ways to handle grief for the hospitalized child’s sibling.
