Abstract: The proposed studies incorporate a reaction time paradigm and a moral updating paradigm in order to test the effects of both explicit and implicit racial biases on the process of moral blame. This will also help distinguish between two theories on moral blame. The first being that when biases are presented, that only the outcome of the blame judgment is affected, and the second being that people with high bias versus people with low bias process information differently, leading to different blame judgments.
