Abstract: This thesis analyzes Barbara Kingsolver’s Prodigal Summer and Flight Behavior through an ecofeminist lens. The women in these novels understand that human and nonhuman lives, including plants and animals, intersect in real and meaningful ways. This realization allows the female characters to move past the dualistic or hegemonic culture they inhabit.
