Abstract: Shattell and Keltner present a case for atypical antipsychotics in bipolar disorder. Moreover, they review current research that supports the effectiveness of several antipsychotics, including olanzapine, quetiapine, and ziprasidone, in treating such disorder. They assert that managing symptoms through psychotropic medications can help people with mental disabilities better manage their lives.
