Abstract: I paint to learn something visually about the world, and to experience life more deeply and thoughtfully. Using acrylic paints, I paint scenes from my everyday life, exploring the humble and the overlooked. I leave my brushstrokes unblended and visible to alternately hide and reveal the subjects of my pictures. These marks leave a record of my visual perception, to which they are directly linked through my hand.
