Andre P. Stevenson

EDUCATION: PhD, MPH, MSW, University of Pittsburgh; BS in Counselor Education, South Carolina State University RESEARCH INTERESTS: Dr. Stevenson has extensive teaching and research experience in the areas of social work and public health. He has served in both faculty and administrative capacities at several universities, both in the US and abroad. He co-authored several publications in noted research journals, has served as guest editor for the Journal of Social Work Education and the Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment. His current main research interest includes study abroad opportunities among students attending HBCUs and the implications for competing in a global workforce. He has a sincere commitment to working with undergraduate students to assist them with being granted study abroad opportunities. He worked with several students during the 2018-2019 academic year to assist them with becoming ECSU's first three recipients of the US State Department's prestigious Benjamin E. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad in Argentina, China, and South Africa.
