Sandi Lane Ph.D.
RECAPP 2020 Award Winner. Dr. Lane is an Assistant Professor of Health Care Management at Appalachian State University, a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and a licensed nursing home administrator. Dr. Lane has over 20 years of health services management experience in a variety of settings to include acute care, long-term care and outpatient ancillary services. Prior to accepting her current position in the College of Health Sciences, she spent seven years as the Program Chair of the Health Services Leadership and Management Program at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. In addition, she has 12 years of teaching experience as an adjunct health care management faculty for Southern Illinois University’s Off-Campus Academic Programs and Pfeiffer University. Dr. Lane earned the inaugural Anita A. Brown Leadership in Education Award; the ACHE Regents award; and the ACHE Service Award. Her scholarly work has been published in the Journal of Asthma, Health Care Management and Review, Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine, and the Gerontologist. She has presented nationally and locally on topics such as: Enhancing Quality in a Diverse Long Term Care Environment, Medication Errors and Adverse Drug Events in Long Term Care, Ethics in Healthcare, and Evidence Based Practice.
