Abstract: In this paper, we explore the economic impact of IT in developing countries through the lens of peer-to-peer (P2P) microfinance. The results of a comprehensive content analysis indicate that through P2P microfinance, IT is in fact positively impacting the livelihoods of citizens and economies in developing nations around the world.
