Abstract: It was the purpose of this investigation (1) to determine the status of the libraries in the junior high schools of North Carolina at the time they were established as a unit in the educational program of the state; (2) to determine the attitude of the librarians, principals and supervisors of these schools as revealed by a questionnaire; and (3) to make recommendations for standards for junior high school libraries in North Carolina.
