Abstract: Hypogeous sporocarps were sampled during two years in spruce-fir and northern hardwood forests on Roan Mountain TN/NC. Ectomycorrhizal root tipswere sampled in each forest during fall 1999 and spring 2001. Molecular techniques were used to compare sporocarp and ectomycorrhizal DNA.
