Abstract: It was hypothesized that introverted subjects would have fewer errors than extroverted subjects on visual search tasks as a result of greater susceptibility to reactive inhibition on the part of extroverts, that greater similarity between target and field would cause a greater increase in the number of errors for extroverts than introverts, and that the imposition of pressure in the form of time comparison of scores to a fictitious norm would adversely affect introverts and improve the score of extroverts.
