Abstract: Two paired-associates learning tasks, varying in difficulty level, were used to test the prediction from state-trait theory and drive theory that high anxious (HA) Ss will perform superior to low anxious (LA) Ss on an easy task and inferior to LA Ss on a more difficult task.
