Abstract: Jack MCGinnis, born and reared in southeastern Ashe County, North Carolina, fervently carries the music traditions of his family and community into the twenty-first century. This thesis, built around two years of interviewing and recording sessions,presents a documentation and analysis of his secular and sacred music.
