Abstract: It was the purpose of this study to prepare films of polypropylene polymer representing a wide density range, to investigate the infrared spectrum of polypropylene as a function of temperature, and to devise a method for correlating the specific volumes, a crystallinity dependent parameter, of polypropylene films with the intensities of certain crystalline sensitive absorption bands found in the infrared spectra of the films.
