Abstract: It was the intent of this study to investigate one facet of the validity of student ratings of teachers. Since opponents of teacher ratings claim that students reveal personal bias or prejudice in their ratings, it was the purpose of this study to determine if there are significant differences in teacher ratings between students who receive a course grade higher than their GPA and students who receive a course grade lower than their GPA.
