Abstract: It was the purpose of this study (1) to investigate the extent to which the concept of the developmental tasks could be utilized in the case of an upper-elementary class in the Richard W. Arrington School of Area II in the consolidated city and county school system of Greenville, South Carolina, and (2) to present patterns of direction and growth observed by the investigator while attempting to promote a more effective group-interaction in the light of the developmental level of each pupil.
