Abstract: Student affairs professionals have become experts on the socialization process of new students to the college environment (Bragg, 1976). Sadly, however, this knowledge, so readily applied to undergraduates, is rarely applied to the graduate student experience. Indeed, the graduate student experience has been called "the great unaddressed academic issue in higher education" (Pruitt-Logan & Isaac, 1995, p. 1).
