Abstract: During the last decade, interest and research on Asians in Latin America has shown a remarkable growth. This is demonstrated by the breadth of works now available—books, journal articles, journals, conference proceedings, dissertations, master's theses, honors papers, films, recordings and other publications—in the social sciences, literature, arts, business, religion, language use, and education. Academic support for Asians in Latin America Studies has also developed through conferences, working groups projects linked to research centers on transnational and comparative studies, discussion lists, and interest groups within ethnic/compara-tive / transnational / diaspora / area / global studies associations. In compiling this selected bibliography on Asians in Latin America for Amerasia Journal, I limited the scope to publications during 1990-2002. Materials not included in the bibliography (due to space constraints) are works of literature and art (films, videos, music), community newspapers and magazines, academic journals, websites, works in Asian and other languages, conference proceedings, exhibition catalogs, community directories, geneaological and biographical works, unpublished manuscripts, undergraduate honors papers, some master's theses, and works on pre-Columbian contact, mission churches (many from Fuller Theological Seminary), external/foreign affairs, Alberto Fujimori, dekaseguí (Japanese Latino return migrants) and Peruvian / Latino internment in the United States during World War II. There was no attempt to include journal articles, which represents another rich data source, in the original scope of this bibliography. The bibliography is organized by the broader "Asians" category, then alphabetically by ethnic group, and within each group it is organized alphabetically by country or region.
