Rosann V. Bazirjian

Rosann Bazirjian was appointed Dean of University Libraries effective August 15, 2004 and retired effective April 1, 2016. Ms. Bazirjian came to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from the Pennsylvania State University, where she served as Assistant Dean for Technical and Access Services in the University Libraries since 1999. In this position she was responsible for all aspects of library access (including circulation, interlibrary loan, disability services and reserves), acquisitions, business and financial operations and cataloging. She previously held positions at Florida State University, Syracuse University and The University of West Florida. In 2005 she served as the President of the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), a division of the American Library Association. The author of 28 articles, chapters and reviews, Ms. Bazirjian has co-edited four volumes of the annual Charleston Conference Proceedings and a recent book on teams in library technical services divisions. At UNC-Greensboro, she is interested in furthering several projects involving the use of information technology to enhance library services, and has recently appointed a task force that is focusing on the revisioning of library services. She is committed to providing a welcoming environment in the University Libraries and has worked toward improving the look and feel of the facilities as well as exploring new service roles for the Libraries. Ms. Bazirjian received her bachelor's degree from the Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York, a Masters of Science in Library Service from Columbia University, and a Masters of Social Science from the Maxwell School of Public Administration from Syracuse University.
