Abstract: The major purpose of this study was to investigate consumer decision-making behavior in the purchase of textiles for the home. Specifically, the study was planned to investigate the effect that social class has upon the consumer's use of external search for information as to: (1) the extent to which search is used, (2) the sources of information consulted, (3) the choice of product attributes for which information is sought, and (4) the relation between the sources of information consulted and the product attributes for which information is sought.
