Abstract: Sound of Rain is a creative thesis concerning the relationship of a young man, Jake Wood, and a young woman, Pat Reding. It has been written from the partial omniscient point of view, centering on Jake Wood. The major theme of the story could be said to be the failure of the two central characters to understand each other or themselves well enough to allow then to become intimate with each other.
