Abstract: I have been lucky enough to be a part of the illustration of multiple children’s books, but this time, I was in charge of the project, from the illustration and design, to the writing and binding. The subject of cars was an instant idea of mine, as I have grown up loving and continue to love cars. As an essential part of life for many people, and a very common sight, cars hold a huge significance in everyday living. The premise of my book is spotting a car and predicting where it will go. I researched the eras the particular cars in each spread hailed from, and in so doing, also discovered the culture of the time period, the geographical locations the car was popular in, and so on. I included all of this information in a way that is easy for children of all ages to understand and learn from. Children’s books have an underrated importance in society and the way they influence the way kids grow up. As someone who values this medium, I want to be a part of that movement, and an aim of mine is to be an indirect but positive impact on a person’s life, whether they be a child or adult. This book was created to encourage children and adults alike to learn more about the world around them, and to use their imaginations.
