Robert A. Henson

The primary focus of my research is latent variable modeling with an emphasis on cognitive diagnosis models. Cognitive diagnosis models are a special case of latent class models in which classes are determined by mastery or non-mastery of a set of dichotomous latent variables, or skills. I also conduct research in related areas such as structural equation modeling, item response theory, and classical test theory. My training as a doctoral student in quantitative psychology at the University of Illinois has instilled in me a fundamental background in both statistics and psychology allowing me to pursue these interests from both mathematical and empirical perspectives.
