Abstract: Invasive plant species are believed to be the second greatest threat to biodiversity within the plant community. Among these invasives is the noxious weed Alliaria petiolata, otherwise known by its more common name: garlic mustard. Because garlic mustard is such an aggressive and entrenching invasive species, modeling its spread across landscapes is an invaluable tool in the battle to protect landscapes and their biodiversity. This research models the spread of garlic mustard using a stochastically driven simulation in order to analyze landscape characteristics that drive or dampen its spread.
