Abstract: This study was undertaken to consider whether the librarians in the public schools of North Carolina should be responsible for caring for the audio-visual aids in these schools. According to the results of a questionnaire circulated among graduate students at Appalachian State Teachers College during summer school, 1951, and according to observations made by the writer, these aids are found scattered over the school buildings from the various classrooms to the principal's office. There is often no central place to which students and teachers may go to find these valuable aids to instruction and to the school program in general . . . An attempt is made in this study to provide suggestions for the guidance of librarians and teacher-librarians in the tasks of housing and administering audio-visual aids.
