Abstract: Of the twenty-five poems collected in this thesis all but two have been written during the last fifteen months. Most of these poems have been written in the free verse tradition, which is to say that symmetry depends more upon rhetorical sequence than rhyme. Other than that, the aesthetic of any singular poem I hold to be self-evident.
