Abstract: Adolescence is a time of great possibility—a period that is filled with new opportunities, new experiences, and great promises. With all its satisfactions, however, this stage of life is often very difficult, for the process of taking one's place as a fit and happy member of contemporary society is not an easy one. During this transitional period, various major decisions must be made, many with which these young people need guidance. In addition to guidance in the classroom, counseling from parents, teachers, and other people, individuals have obtained help in solving problems from various clubs and organizations whose primary purposes are to build character and inculcate moral values, as well as give worthwhile information on various subjects that will be helpful to them as they take their places in society. One such organization for high school girls is the Future Homemakers of America, a national organization of pupils studying homemaking in junior and senior high schools.
