Abstract: The solubilities of selected salts in anhydrous nitric acid were determined by evaporation of the solvent, conversion of the nitrate to the sulfate and recovery of the sulfate, or flame photometry. The methods were compared for salts of low and high concentration . . . The differences in the solubilities of the nitrate salts investigated may be attributed to differences in cation solvation which has been proposed as being related to ionic potential of the cations.
